Biophilic Design Conference 2025
‘Empowerment’ was the word of the day for me at the 2025 Biophilic Design Conference on Monday. With terms such as Soliphilia and Salutogenesis standing proud alongside Biophilia.
The super statement, ‘there is no such thing as neutral space.’ From esteemed Architect, Tye Farrow, got me thinking. Every bit of space affects how we feel, react, move, work, relax, and Biophilic design is instrumental in providing the right type of environment for our health and well-being in every single setting, without fail.
For my industry, it is paramount that not only do we design with a Biophilic approach, but that we have a fundamental responsibility to educate our clients (and each other, for that matter!) Through thoughtful human design, we can maximise biodiversity, enrich soil health and create a naturally resilient space that is not only beautiful and requires less maintenance, but will enhance our clients’ way of living.
The impressive list of speakers and, indeed, delegates is a testament to the importance of this design approach; Poone Yazdanpanah with her eloquent presentation on Miān-Sarā really resonated with me, along with Adam White and Andrée Davies very enthusiastic talk, which introduced me to some gorgeous children’s nature books for my TBR list, to Oliver Heath, who I could listen to all day and finally Frankie Boyle’s infectious passion for light.
In fact, the list of speakers was so impressive, I have attached a link here and urge you to explore each one https://journalofbiophilicdesign.com/2025-conference-speakers.
